Three experiences you may already know… but at Hotel Galli, they feel different.
My name is Barbara, and I’m the Head of Reception at Hotel Galli.
Each season I welcome guests who arrive in Livigno with a clear idea of what their holiday will look like: skiing, fresh air, shopping, nature, relaxation.
Then, just before they leave, they stop by the desk. They tell me about their snowshoe hike to Crap de la Parè, about how wonderful it felt to unwind in the private spa after a full day outdoors. Many of them smile and ask how they’ll manage breakfast back home without our alpine cheese.
That’s when I know we’ve gone beyond expectations — and it’s no coincidence.
It’s the result of the work and hospitality philosophy Luca has built here from the very beginning: a place where even familiar experiences — things you may have already tried elsewhere — become lasting memories.
My role, together with the entire team, is to make sure that by the end of their stay, every guest has plenty of moments worth packing in their suitcase.
So today, I’d like to share what I believe are three experiences not to miss at Hotel Galli — perfect for planning a full day in Livigno.
Morning: A breakfast worth waking up for
Breakfast should feel special. More than that, Luca wanted it to be the first story of the day — not something you rush through before putting on your ski boots, but a moment to sit down, breathe, and look around.
Through the TAST project (Tradizione Alpina Senza Tempo), promoted by Livigno’s tourism board, we’ve chosen to bring authentic local products to the table: traditional breads, alpine cheeses, homemade desserts you won’t easily find elsewhere.
When I see a guest pause in front of Pan da séal or Breciadégl and ask how to pronounce it, I know we’re doing things right.
TAST breakfast is the best way to start the day with something truly authentic.
Midday: Snowshoeing to Crap de la Parè
When I suggest it, I often hear: “A snowshoe hike? We’ve done that before.”
Then they come back — and look at me as if to say, “You were right.”
Crap de la Parè is one of the most stunning viewpoints in the entire area. At 2,393 meters above sea level, it offers sweeping views over Lake Livigno and the Swiss peaks beyond. The panorama alone is worth every step.
In winter, you can reach it by snowshoe — which we provide free of charge — starting from Passo Eira, just ten minutes from the hotel. The route is well marked and accessible to everyone: about an hour and fifteen minutes uphill at a steady, manageable pace.
I always recommend asking us to prepare a small packed snack with our local products to take along. Reaching the summit and enjoying something delicious while taking in that view makes the experience even more memorable.
Evening: The Spa. Just for You.
After a well-spent day, what you really need is proper relaxation.
At Hotel Galli, our wellness area includes private whirlpools, sauna, aromatic steam bath, and sensory showers. But there’s one detail I always mention at check-in: from 8:00 pm onwards, the spa can be reserved for exclusive use.
It’s something Luca strongly believes in — turning relaxation into a truly private experience.
To make the evening even more special, you can pair your private spa time with a selection of local delicacies and two glasses of wine, or fresh fruit and Champagne, or even strawberries, pralines and sparkling wine — starting from €40.
And sometimes, simply enjoying the silence after a full day is already more than enough.
Where should you start?
When guests ask me what to do today, my answer is usually simple:
A slow breakfast.
A snowshoe hike to Crap de la Parè.
An evening in the private spa.
Three simple moments.
Thoughtfully designed.
If you’re planning your stay in Livigno, feel free to write to me before you arrive — I’ll be happy to help you plan your perfect day.
Or book your stay at Hotel Galli and we’ll take it from there.
I look forward to welcoming you,
Barbara
