Reflections on authenticity, everyday excellence, and the method that guides our work
In the end, the Olympics have arrived.
Athletes, journalists, and spectators from every corner of the world are discovering Livigno, observing it with the attention reserved for the great stages.
In recent times especially, an event of this scale—so vast and unrepeatable—has understandably raised a few concerns.
Its impact on the territory, the changes it brings, the risk that Livigno might become something other than what it has always been.
But those who live and work here know this well: Livigno doesn’t need to pretend to be anything else.
And at Hotel Galli, we will continue along this path.
Authenticity, not a showcase
When major events come to town, it’s common to dress up for the occasion: façades are polished, decisions are made about what to show and what to hide.
Then the event passes, leaving behind the feeling of having taken part in something that never truly belonged to the place—or to the people who live it every day.
We chose a different way.
Hotel Galli’s idea of hospitality doesn’t change with the calendar.
It doesn’t need glitter for Olympic weeks, because it is built on daily work—attention, care, and respect.
Every season, every morning, every guest is an opportunity for us to tell our story honestly, offering our best in both the big gestures and the small ones.
Those are the only things that leave a real memory.
The local products we serve are the ones we have always used.
The smiles you meet at reception and in the dining room are never for show.
Authenticity doesn’t switch on overnight: it’s cultivated over time, protected, and passed on.
Everyday excellence, not a one-off event
There is a profound difference between doing things well for an event and doing them well because you have a vision.
Olympic athletes don’t start training a month before the Games. They train every day, for years, when no one is watching.
The performance the audience applauds is only the final act of a silent discipline, repeated thousands of times far from the spotlight.
The values of Olympic sport—dedication, respect, excellence—are the same values that guide our daily work in hospitality.
Because welcoming works in exactly the same way: dedication, respect, and excellence are not switches you turn on when needed. They are an attitude, a method, a choice renewed every morning.
Our team works with this spirit
Barbara at reception puts into practice every day the philosophy we want to be felt throughout our spaces: a sense of familiarity, of welcome, of being genuinely available to the guest.
Ibri in the kitchen leads the brigade with calm and precision, making sure every dish meets the standards we’ve set for ourselves.
Cristina in the dining room has the gift of remembering every guest and their habits, making everyone feel cared for—as if they were the only one.
Every person you’ll meet at Hotel Galli has chosen to train every day in their own discipline: welcoming, service, cooking, caring for details.
Not for a temporary show, but because they believe in a way of doing hospitality that knows no shortcuts.
Hosting the Olympics will bring new guests, new expectations, and new attention to Livigno.
Our approach, however, will not change.
We keep our feet on the ground and continue to work with one goal: to take care of the time each guest spends with us.
That’s why my team and I will keep doing, every day, what we’ve always done:
welcoming with care, cooking with passion, and telling the story of our land with honesty.
Not because Livigno is hosting the Olympics, but because it’s the only way we know.
Excellence is not an event.
It’s an attitude.
